My name is Marilyn Mercer. I worked as a special education teacher in the public school system for 26 years until July 2020.
For the past several school years, I have been fortunate to have a business that allows me to continue my passion—working with students daily. I provide academic assistance and remediation to elementary through high school students, either in person or virtually from my home. I am currently working with students who attend fourteen different schools in the Denver Metro area.
Additionally, with 32 years of experience in special education, I possess the expertise to guide parents through the special education and 504 plan processes. I am available on a consultative basis to assist parents, help them navigate the process, and attend meetings.
Four years ago, I embarked on a new venture in addition to my business. A former parent, community members, and I started a homeschooling academy. I currently teach middle and high school mathematics at Summit Homeschool Academy in Castle Rock, CO.
In my spare time, I provide respite care for special needs families through Williams World.
